Setting up HQPlayer remote

Recommended Posts

Hi AS

Got the app on my ipad but dont know how to set it up?

I have a single PC.

Pretty much only use Qobuz.

Does the remote work for navigating the Hqp Qobuz?

Also are there keyboard short cuts. I know about the page numbers 1 2 & 3…

mainly navigating through the client pages. Would be handy on the opening page to have a shortcut straight to get to local host. Then obviously press 1 the be able to go straight to the top box and choose Library. Qobuz or the other one. Would save a lot of time messing around with a mouse. The ‘Album’ link to page 1 is strangly very small and difficult to precisely get the mouse. Not sure why its so small?

Thanks C

Your always very helpful.

Hi ericuco

Im using Hqplayer client on a PC. Obviously host as well

Trying to use the remote HQPD on ipad but cant connect it to PC.

Trying to find out if the remote will work for Qobuz on client.

Miska

I know im probably being a pain in the arse!

Cant really get my head round the limit/Apodizing filters?

Im getting some numbers hitting 3-4000!

Im presuming the ones with a X on the list are apodizing.

Tried the reduce volume tactic but no effect.

At the same time, I’m still enjoying the sound so is it really worth worrying about.

NS5 with poly-sinc gause-long

Using a parametric eq but there is nothing excessive, infact i have 25khz at -1.5db so no excessive bass.

Any clues

Thanks C

Are you talking about the Limited number (first value) or the Apodizing number (second value)?

Limited number is analyzed on the output side, and thus affected by volume control etc. Apodizing number is analyzed on the input (source) side and thus it applies to the source material and thus none of the settings will affect it because it is run directly on the source data before any DSP has been applied.

Yes, the ones with X are apodizing filters.

So if you get incrementing Limited count, lower the HQPlayer volume until it stays zero. If you get Apodizing count higher than 10 during a track, at least such tracks should be played through an apodizing filter. If you already have an apodizing filter selected, then you are already good.

That makes things more clear.

Ill try both again.

Im guessing a few tracks will have some high counts but if one has tried the above, but your still enjoying the music then not a problem.

Could be that if there was no count displayed then one would not worry about it anyway!

I will try the above though : )

  • 1 year later...

Hello I am reviving this old thread. Being a complete newbie in this, would  like to seek the generous help/advice/instructions/guide on setting up a remote control for hqplayer client app. I am on windows 11.

As I am now using hqplayer digital volume control now, it would be nice to have a physical control to at least to volume up/down/mute/play/stop…

I saw Miska provided the keyboard keys above but again being a complete newbie I am not sure what I need to do to map the client app keys to a different physical remote, and it could just be a Bluetooth keypad or something .

thanks everyone
