triple (3) Ansuz PowerSwitch!!!

hi all, here too I post my considerations on a daisy chain of three Ansuz power Switches. by now the importance of one or more switches in a network path is recognized by all, but how do two or three switches in cascade sound?

the test was carried out in an now evolved, optimized and mature system, some pieces of the composition are; as a DAC source a top of the range of TOTALDAC the Twelve in the latest version, as loudspeakers of the excellent Swiss Tobian soundsystem model 12FH, Dissanayake valve electronics a handcrafted manufacturer of extreme quality, or each realization is a unique piece guaranteed for life, the performances are of the highest level, already a medium level Dissanayake can beat with the top of the range of almost all that is around ...

the impressions are pretty obvious, multiple pieces in a daisy chain increase listening pleasure, decreasing background noise and facilitating the surfacing of the smallest details, but fundamental for an extreme and incredibly natural performance. everything is decidedly dependent on the type of network cable that will be used to connect the various switches.

an Ansuz PowerSwitch A2, a D2 and a top of the range TC-D Supreme were used, already only with the TC-D Supreme we get something extremely unique, combining it with its younger brothers has increased the listening pleasure, musicality and the organic nature of the service. An Ansuz TC-D Supreme network cable is used between the last switch and the network streamer, which as the name implies is truly supreme! what I mean is that apart from the obvious increase in performance, using such an extreme configuration they benefit all the components of the message reproduced, and this is felt above all on low frequencies where digital has always been a bit poor. In the end, to keep costs down, I think that a double scwitches configuration is more than enough, but just one Ansuz powerSwitch will take the performance much further than we can expect.

I forgot one aspect that then became fundamental, each switch must be powered with the best power cable we have available, the difference is enormous! I am using Dyrholm Audio's top-of-the-range power cables the Vision series for this with excellent results!

for what it can serve, at the house of a friend who had a double switch, Melco s100 and Sotm, we tried only one Ansusz D2, result: the Melco s100 and the sotm (with clock) were sold on the market.

linear power supply by hdplex

 

add, Ansuz does not have a dedicated external power supply to work on anymore.

Hi gionaz,

I find it strange that the exact same story and competitive claim appears on two different forums from 2 different authors, neither of whom acknowledge the other, express surprise or provide explanation.  You are certainly free to introduce yourself on whatever forum you chose, however this is IMO a most curious and frankly less than auspicious introduction. 

 

I am aware that the Ansuz uses an internal Mean Well switched-mode power supply, specifically the  IRM-20-15. 100-240V 15V 1.4A. This is a generic Chinese manufactured device that costs ca. $15.00 from electronics wholesalers and is intended to be internally hard wired, obviating the need for a DC connector cable.

if I had to hide something I would not have made two virtually identical posts ...

 

usually a power supply is not always what you think you know, internal changes are made, and everything is completed to interface at the highest level with the rest of the electronics. Back to the post, however, it was interesting to bring an unusual experience of three chained switches into an already high-level system. I hope it served someone as a starting point or to improve a liquid music setup
