ade_compaud
I'm interested in getting a Macbook, should I go for one of the newly released models or wait for an ebay bargain on an older model? What happens to all the old unsold stock? Link to comment
tfarney
You may be able to save a couple of hundred bucks if you can get to a last-generation Macbook at your local Apple store, but I'd personally call that false economics, The upgraded screen and graphics card are worth the $200 extra. And if the new trackpad works as well as the screen on the iPhone/iPod touch, it's worth the price of admission on its own. Tim I confess. I\'m an audiophool. Link to comment
haiku1
Go and buy one. It`s a no brainer for me. I love my White Macbook though, it does everything I`ve ever wanted and needed to have lots of fun! :-) White Macbook - Apple Airport Express - AVI ADM 9.1[br]AVI ADM 9 Owners Club Link to comment
tfarney
Oh I stil have and throughly enjoy my iBook G4. But if I were buying new, I'd pay $1200 for a new MacBook rather than $1000 for the old one. Tim I confess. I\'m an audiophool. Link to comment
ehrawn
If you plan on using your MacBook as a laptop (i.e. picking it up off your desk and traveling with it) definitely get the new one. My 1st gen white MacBook has served me well, but its one weakness is its compliance. If you pick it up with a disk in the drive, you can hear it rub as the case flexes. The new ones are super stiff and that .5 lb drop is noticeable. Link to comment
