Help With An e-onkyo Purchase

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, is anyone in a location authorized to purchase this album? I get the red banner on the bottom of the screen saying I can’t.

If someone can purchase the DSD / DSF 11.2 MHz version for me, I’m happy to reimburse you.

I found the album and purchased it from https://ototoy.jp/_/default/p/823041 thanks to the link from @nickwill

Unfortunately e-onkyo blocks access to their entire inventory to all non-Japanese customers

Sometimes it's like someone took a knife, baby
Edgy and dull and cut a six inch valley
Through the middle of my skull

Yep, they are really strict.

You need Japanese form of payment and be coming from a Japanese ip address.

Have any forum members from Japan you can flag?

That's the MQA CD version of the same album.

I didn't translate the Japanese text via google, but "DSD" is clearly visible in several places on the page. The recommendation was to look in different places, if not in this one, then somewhere else.

Sound is great, but the performance is, how do I say it, different. I'm not sure if I'm just not used to it yet or if I'll dislike it in the long run. Right now, I'm not feeling it. It's hard to beat the original, that's for sure.

Couldn't agree more.

By the way, I'm really liking the other album I bought from Ototoy yesterday:

https://ototoy.jp/_/default/p/514140

Just piano and bass rather than the usual piano trio.

Awesome. Time to push Ototoy's dial-up download speed to the limit again :~)

I bought an album of Erik Satie piano music from Ototoy that was DSD256 however when I checked there was nothing above 21khz. I know they can only sell the files they are provided with but some kind of provenance would be nice so caveat emptor
