The Computer Audiophile
Hi Guys, is anyone in a location authorized to purchase this album? I get the red banner on the bottom of the screen saying I can’t. If someone can purchase the DSD / DSF 11.2 MHz version for me, I’m happy to reimburse you. I found the album and purchased it from https://ototoy.jp/_/default/p/823041 thanks to the link from @nickwill! https://www.e-onkyo.com/sp/album/bud4538182962374/?lf=e44dcd8542c82ce1743652382f4ab1ab Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

I didn't translate the Japanese text via google, but "DSD" is clearly visible in several places on the page. The recommendation was to look in different places, if not in this one, then somewhere else. kumakuma 1 Link to comment

Sound is great, but the performance is, how do I say it, different. I'm not sure if I'm just not used to it yet or if I'll dislike it in the long run. Right now, I'm not feeling it. It's hard to beat the original, that's for sure. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

By the way, I'm really liking the other album I bought from Ototoy yesterday: https://ototoy.jp/_/default/p/514140 Just piano and bass rather than the usual piano trio. nickwill
I bought an album of Erik Satie piano music from Ototoy that was DSD256 however when I checked there was nothing above 21khz. I know they can only sell the files they are provided with but some kind of provenance would be nice so caveat emptor Link to comment

kesen
You can bypass that restriction easily using VPNgate. If you use a big VPN the site will have most likely already blacklisted the IP. VPNgate essentially is bunch of public university severs in Japan. You only need to use the VPN too to make the purchase, they don’t restrict users outside Japan from downloading content they already purchased either, so it won’t take forever to download files. I wrote a blog post on this a couple years back, same instructions still apply. How to buy MQA and Hi-Res Audio from Japanese Digital Stores Link to comment
