Popular Post firedog
Hi- Thanks for this. And I'll add my 2 cents as a satisfied customer of Mitch: Even if you have a well done setup, a service like Mitch's will give your system that last boost that makes it really outstanding. It did for me. For people who think DRC "ruins" sound - No, it doesn't. Few audiophiles have managed to take the room out of the equation in their music playback. So they don't understand what they are missing - or rather, what the room is adding to what they mistakenly think is "natural and accurate" sound. Well done DRC sounds weird when you first hear it, because you think something is missing. And it is - the distortion added by your room. Once you eliminate that and listen to it for a while, you realize what actual clear sound is, and how much better playback with proper DRC sounds. The price for working with Mitch, buying a mic, and software (if you buy software, there's free software also available) is a pittance compared to what we spend on even a modest system. Yes, setting up the mic and measuring can be a bit of a pain if you've never done it - but it's a one off. You get a good measurement, and then unless you make some change to your setup, you never deal with that part again. Highly recommended.
