LondonDan
I can’t say it will work but.. I had a connection issue with my network switch connected to edge router. Eventually I worked out that if I unplugged the network cable to my network switch from the edge router leaving cables connected to the network switch only. Power down network switch for a couple mins (and fiber links) and then restart them for 5 mins with NO link to the edge router. Then power down edge router connect the Ethernet back to network switch (or fiber link) and power back on edge router and wait. if it’s not just me (it could be) edge router seems to like to be booted up in a certain way with network switches, all other components like access point or tv seems to connect to edge router straight away but the network switch it seems more particular. if this doesn’t work, then I don’t know what to suggest from my experience at least, it’s worth a try. Popular Post LondonDan
Unplug the lan cable from router to fiber converter. (YES as long as router = Edgerouter x) Power down the switch and fiber converter. (Yes) After 5 minutes power up fiber converter and switch (yes) Power down edge router (Yes) Connect router and fiber converter (Yes) Power up router (YES as long as router = Edgerouter x) I guess as you are writing it means it didn't work?? It worked for me 2 times when I had to move cables around and the Edgerouter didn't work with the network switch (of the switch didn't like the change - one of those), its the only sequence that worked for my switch to get up and running again. After that maybe try to remove the fiber from the equation and go straight from Edgerouter to network switch ONLY using ethernet cables (no fiber connection anywhere) if your equipment allows this. if that doesnt work straight away try the above reboot again but without fiber. if that works then its the fiber connection and I can't offer any help there as I don't have any fiber networking experience (others will I'm sure). But if it doesn't work most likely its the network switch with an issue some how, assuming your Edgerouter works with anything you plug into it normally?
