lucretius Posted May 16, 2021 Share Posted May 16, 2021 I just broke the integer mode (kernel streaming) in Windows. I wasn't getting DSD output, so I corrected that in the settings. Then I tried to play dsd files and nothing -- even got some error message "Unable to change to integer mode". mQa is dead! Link to comment

I would agree. OK, when you stop playback the player's exclusive lock on the computer audio is gone, so this combines two indicators into one, but it seems to me the stop control is more fundamental. Audirvana even lets you set it up to do DSD DoP in kernel streaming. but I get the error message "Unable to change to integer mode." Using an ASIO driver, I can upsample PCM to DSD256. However, DSD64 stays at DSD64 ???? mQa is dead! Link to comment

One problem I see is that you can only add it temporarily. You cannot save it for easy recall later -- that is problematic. mQa is dead! Link to comment
