RunHomeSlow
Subscribing is paying for something you don’t own, i don’t like that either. I want, i pay, i own, i do what i want. When OS doesn’t work anymore you revert back and stay there with what you bought. this update has to be massive, all bugs before solved + some improvements in sound and in look and possibilities to makes what we like in database vision…and not messing with all that was working in v3.5 If You Got Ears, You Gotta Listen – Captain Beefheart MacMini 2018, 4xi3 3.6GHz, SSD, 20Gb, macOS Sonoma > Audirvana Origin > Wyred DAC2 DSD Special Edition > Proceed AMP2 > Focal Cobalt 826 Signature Series > Audirvana Remote > iPhone 13 Link to comment

Popular Post RunHomeSlow
Deadline is coming fast. I'm sure everyone here will backup their 3.5 version and database before being updated. If you don't know how on a MAC: Create a new folder on the Desktop, Call it Audirvana 3.5 or whatever. In it, create a folder name Playlists... First, export all your playlists to that folder you just created on your Mac. Yes, one by one :( Close Audirvana. Drag out Audirvana of Applications folder while maintaining 'option' key on the keyboard and drag it to the 3.5 folder, this will make a copy of the software. After, copy the 2 preferences files in your Library with 'option' key also. Copy with 'option' key the .sqlite file (your database) to the new folder on Desktop. If you have you serial your can put it there too :) Apple hide the Home Folder in User Library at some time depending on OS System… When you have clicked your Home Folder, and cannot see the Library Folder in there, just do a ‘‘cmd J’’ to show the folder settings preferences and see at the bottom… click Show Library Folder and then you’ll have access to the rest forever. Go to User… Home Folder… Library… Applications Support… Audirvana Folder… and copy the .sqlite in it Go to User… Home Folder… Library… Preferences… copy com.audirvana.Audirvana-Plus.plist and com.audirvana.Audirvana.plist jos and bnbayer 1 1 If You Got Ears, You Gotta Listen – Captain Beefheart MacMini 2018, 4xi3 3.6GHz, SSD, 20Gb, macOS Sonoma > Audirvana Origin > Wyred DAC2 DSD Special Edition > Proceed AMP2 > Focal Cobalt 826 Signature Series > Audirvana Remote > iPhone 13 Link to comment

I was using a leaned out El Capitan to run Audirvana 3.5 and just recently got another SD Card to be able to compare and separately install another OS to be able to run Studio which is the 10.15.7 (couldnt get High Sierra) I don't really play anymore with system... forgot Direct Mode, since i couldn't install it past 10.15.5 i think... Apple released after major security updates to 10.15.7, 2 times i think... so now, i don't care, might try installing later a Big Sur on late 2012, but have other problems more important than that... bit perfect playing, no hack, Studio for only local files, no bugs. Backup up database everyday just in case :) i have requests but all play good and sound better for me... was already hearing nice music when beta testing... i was surprise 3 or 4 times that Cd plays more beautiful if i recall :) kerisabe 1 If You Got Ears, You Gotta Listen – Captain Beefheart MacMini 2018, 4xi3 3.6GHz, SSD, 20Gb, macOS Sonoma > Audirvana Origin > Wyred DAC2 DSD Special Edition > Proceed AMP2 > Focal Cobalt 826 Signature Series > Audirvana Remote > iPhone 13 Link to comment

I'm pretty sure the sound is the same on M1 or Intel, or worse on M1 for the moment... matthias 1 If You Got Ears, You Gotta Listen – Captain Beefheart MacMini 2018, 4xi3 3.6GHz, SSD, 20Gb, macOS Sonoma > Audirvana Origin > Wyred DAC2 DSD Special Edition > Proceed AMP2 > Focal Cobalt 826 Signature Series > Audirvana Remote > iPhone 13 Link to comment

When people are hacking their systems to hold onto outdated computers it is time to move on What are you saying?? You don't need to hack a Mac Mini 2009, 2011, 2012... enough horse power to run a software that can run with a candle... :) You have to hack any Mac if you want to have Direct Mode back in Audirvana after El Capitan. Popular Post RunHomeSlow
49 minutes ago, bbosler said: You are oversimplifying it. You may accuse me of making it too complicated, but the simple fact is that horse power or the fact that other software runs fine is not the issue. Pure Music runs beautifully on these older Minis using a few % of the CPU. It won't run at all on a Mini with Big Sur. It isn't horsepower, it is the operating system so you run Pure Music on Mojave, which means you can't use a Mini M1 because Mojave won't run on an M1. So I'm saying, perhaps some of the issues people are having is trying to use 2021 software on a 2011 machine. Perhaps so, perhaps not this time, but as Apple migrates everything to the M1 machines the old Intels will eventually be left behind. As is a lot of "current" Apple software has to run in a translator to function on an M1. Developers are left with the choice of optimizing their software to run on M1 or Intel... it can't do both. I'll drop it since this seems off topic,,, but maybe not if some of the issues here are being caused by some incompatibility that isn't obvious. Makes you wonder why somebody has stuttering on a 2013 mac when running advanced processing? Defect in the software or some issue with running 2021 software on an 8 year old machine? Hope it all works out for you... see ya Man!! Glad you are off topic, don’t have to reply 😀 pl_svn and lucretius 1 1 If You Got Ears, You Gotta Listen – Captain Beefheart MacMini 2018, 4xi3 3.6GHz, SSD, 20Gb, macOS Sonoma > Audirvana Origin > Wyred DAC2 DSD Special Edition > Proceed AMP2 > Focal Cobalt 826 Signature Series > Audirvana Remote > iPhone 13 Link to comment

RunHomeSlow
My database was done, since testing the beta. yes the tag was applied, on 40000 files, maybe 1000 got another artist added to my perfectly tagged database for me. I had to remove those, worked maybe 4hours, now database is perfect like before. So, i decided to left ‘on’ the tag to continu to be added. 3.2 to 3.5 messed things up way more if i remembered well. It would be funny if people just waited to be able to ‘not add’ that simple tag that you don’t see anyway, to see it all analyze again without the tag 😀 If You Got Ears, You Gotta Listen – Captain Beefheart MacMini 2018, 4xi3 3.6GHz, SSD, 20Gb, macOS Sonoma > Audirvana Origin > Wyred DAC2 DSD Special Edition > Proceed AMP2 > Focal Cobalt 826 Signature Series > Audirvana Remote > iPhone 13 Link to comment
