Domeniss
Iron Starlet Connie Han @ bluecoastmusic.com Artists: Connie Han Record Label: Mack Avenue Genre: Jazz ALBUM CREDITS: Connie Han piano, Fender Rhodes Ivan Taylor bass Bill Wysaske drums Walter Smith III tenor saxophone Jeremy Pelt trumpet PROVENANCE: Recorded and Mixed to 96kHz, 24-bit WAV PCM. Remastered in DSD256. I heard one of the songs from this album while driving one morning. Liked it, so thought I'd see what the album was like. Glad I did. The album has a good mix of high energy tunes as well as some more mellow tunes. Ignore the high heels and skimpy outfits. This is solid ensemble jazz. Han on piano is the leader, but this is not a piano album. Complex and uptempo, with a couple of jazz staples you might recognize mixed into a set of original compositions by Han and the drummer & producer, Bill Wysake. 25 year old Han is a major new talent. In short, Iron Starlet is a fine example of contemporary mainstream jazz. My vote so far for best jazz album of the year. 1 Iron Starlet 3:59 2 Nova 7:45 3 Mr. Dominator 7:31 4 For the O.G. 6:48 5 Hello to the Wind 6:44 6 Detour Ahead 6:12 7 Captain’s Song 5:22 8 Boy Toy 4:52 9 The Forsaken 8:02 10 Dark Chambers 5:39 https://bluecoastmusic.com/connie-han/iron-starlet#.YI1_eT9R02w Link to comment
