bunno77
Need some help with options for this on ipad/iphone. Was at a mates and he is apple only which I am hopeless with. He has a DLNA/UPNP capable streamer that worked fine with Bubbleupnp and Tidal from my Android phone. We installed the Mconnect paid version on his iphone and ipad but both came back with something like not available on his plan. I assume this is to do with his Tidal subscription but he is on the Premium plan. Quick searches didn't come back with any help. Is Mconnect the best/only DLNA app for apple? Any good alternatives? jcbenten
iPeng? https://pinkfishmedia.net/forum/threads/recommendations-for-a-ios-upnp-player-please.231201/ I use LMS and iPeng. There is an addon for LMS to use DLNA/UPNP and I know that works with Bubble on my Android phone. I do not remember if I ever tried DLNA on my iPad. I also do not know if Tidal is on LMS. It has a ton of addons and is still a community supported software https://forums.slimdevices.com QNAP TS453Pro w/QLMS->Netgear Switch->Netgear RAX43 Router->Ethernet (50 ft)->Netgear switch->SBTouch ->SABAJ A10d->Linn Majik-IL (preamp)->Linn 2250->Linn Keilidh; Control Points: iPeng (iPad Air & iPhone); Also: Rega P3-24 w/ DV 10x5; OPPO 103; PC Playback: Foobar2000 & JRiver; Portable: iPhone 12 ProMax & Radio Paradise or NAS streaming; Sony NWZ ZX2 w/ PHA-3; SMSL IQ, Fiio Q5, iFi Nano iDSD BL; Garage: Edifier S1000DB Active Speakers Link to comment
bunno77
Thanks @jcbenten Looks like too much hassle and mate is unlikely to mess around with LMS etc and not straight forward with Tidal Peach Audio Iso Transformer, Linn Akurate DSM, McIntosh MA2275 Paradigm 30th Anniversary Tributes, SVS SB13 Ultra x2, Dynaudio BM5A MKII Link to comment
jcbenten
@bunno77 I hear you...LMS can be difficult to set up and configured how one wants...but once I installed QLMS on my NAS, Qnapclub Store - QLogitechMediaServer, it all became much easier. bunno77 1 QNAP TS453Pro w/QLMS->Netgear Switch->Netgear RAX43 Router->Ethernet (50 ft)->Netgear switch->SBTouch ->SABAJ A10d->Linn Majik-IL (preamp)->Linn 2250->Linn Keilidh; Control Points: iPeng (iPad Air & iPhone); Also: Rega P3-24 w/ DV 10x5; OPPO 103; PC Playback: Foobar2000 & JRiver; Portable: iPhone 12 ProMax & Radio Paradise or NAS streaming; Sony NWZ ZX2 w/ PHA-3; SMSL IQ, Fiio Q5, iFi Nano iDSD BL; Garage: Edifier S1000DB Active Speakers Link to comment

What TIDAL streaming quality settings has the mconnect Player app been configured with? BTW, I can't think of any UPnP/DLNA controller apps on Apple's iOS devices, other than the mconnect Player ones, that can provide TIDAL (or Qobuz) access on their own. Other iOS controller apps require you run helper or media server software on a computer or NAS on the same network, such as the Logitech Media Server for the iPeng app already mentioned, or the BubbleUPnP Server helper application for the Linn Kazoo app. bunno77 1 We are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us. -- Jo Cox Link to comment

Do you really believe that app has anything to do with the OP's requirement of a TIDAL supporting iOS app to control UPnP/DLNA streamers with?
