John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band - 2021 Remix and Ultimate

Recommended Posts

Just released. Listening on Qobuz.

Sounds great. As with the other recent remixes, Yoko Ono made sure that John's voice was brought up to be more prominent in the mix (as Lennon didn't like the sound of his voice and generally tried to make it less prominent in the mix).

Very clear and clean sounding.

If you like the album, worth a few bucks for one of the remix versions.

Main listening (small home office):

Main setup: Surge protector +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Isolation>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments.

Secondary Path: Server with Audiolense RC>RPi4 or analog>Cayin iDAC6 MKII (tube mode) (XLR)>Kii Three .

Bedroom: SBTouch to Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Setup.
Living Room/Kitchen: Ropieee (RPi3b+ with touchscreen) + Schiit Modi3E to a pair of Morel Hogtalare.

All absolute statements about audio are false :)

Just got the BluRay Discs.

Question: Why  when you rip BR discs like these sets is there no identifying meta data with the tracks? On a multi-disc set, where several songs are included in multiple versions, it's very confusing. And it makes for a lot of hand written tags. Very time consuming.

I have ripped a lot of blu rays using AnyDVD HD to decrypt and DVD Audio Extractor to rip. That's how it always is, no metadata on blu rays. However, with DVD Audio Extractor, if someone has uploaded the track into, then I can download it - assuming its correct. It can be frustrating at times like you say.
