Kelly
I would have put this in the ultra thread above but it’s locked. I have a Sbooster 5-6v model. At 6v it’s rated at 1.75 A continuous and can do more than double that transiently. Is there a reason that unit cannot handle an ultraRendu? Is there something about 6v that is undesirable compared to 7v? (I assume there must be, given all of the specific power supplies are 7v) Roon ->UltraRendu + CI Audio 7v LPS-> Kii Control -> Kii Three Roon->BMC UltraDAC->Mr Speakers Aeon Flow Open Link to comment
jcn3
@Kelly - if you look at the sonore website, you can see that it can handle 6-9v, but 9v is not recommended: https://www.sonore.us/ultraRendu.html. your sbooster should work fine. lsantista
Being 9V acceptable but not recommended, what if I want to use it with a 9V Farad3 LPS, at least for a few months? SHould I expect a significant chance of fail, just a somewhat shortened lifespan, not optimal SQ or any other collateral? Link to comment

It will run a little hotter on 9 volts and it may decrease the life of the regulators a little but there should be no other problems. I would use the 6 volt as the opposite will be true. It will run a little cooler and may last a bit longer. Link to comment
lsantista
Thanks. I might undo some of the harm with external passive cooling , plus winter is coming around here Link to comment
