That is not correct. Both the Sonore opticalModule and opticalRendu will work with any SFP+ fiber-optic transceiver--as long as what is connected to the other end is also a 1GBe device and the transceivers are matching.  Same for EtherREGEN.

There is no such thing as a "10GB-only" fiber-optic transceiver!

That is correct.

But ONLY if the device (typically switch, though for some an opticalRendu or Lumin X1) that the OTHER end's transceiver is ALSO a 1Gbe-only SFP port.

No. If you put an SFP+ transceiver into the cage of a switch listed as having SFP+ ports and being 10Gbe, the switch is going to send 10Gbe data through that transceiver and it till not work with any 1Gbe-only device. No offense dearest Andreas, but I am not sure why you are having trouble grasping this since I slowly wrote it as clear as I could.

No you misunderstood.  If you put an SFP+ (10GBe) transceiver into any SFP+(10GBe) port--of the Microtik or any other--that switch is going to transmit at 10Gbe.  

And what you underlined in the text of the photo means only that the Microtik will work with 1Gbe SFP transceivers.

 

And you also seem to have misunderstood the last part of my sentence:

The "device" I was referring to that would not work--when you put an SFP+ transceiver into an SFP+ switch cage--is any 1GBe-only device at the other end. E.g., an EtherREGEN or opticalRendu.

Given that you are using a 10Gbe-capable SFP+ module in the 1Gbe-only SFP port of the SOtM switch, your problem most assuredly has to do with whatever device is at the other end of that connection. After reboot that other device is likely trying to connect at 10Gbe since it senses the FTLX1475D3BTL is capable of that.

Such is often the case, though the physical design (case casting) of SFP+ transceivers helps them seat better than SFP modules.
