Duplicate file finder that identifies highest bitrate of duplicate(s)?

Recommended Posts

I have a large quantity of music files on my SSD, some of which are duplicates.  What software do you recommend that will accurately identify the duplicates, and display the bitrate of the duplicate(s)?

My intent is to easily delete lower quality duplicate files, and keep the higher quality duplicate.  Thanks in advance for your help.

I've not tried PerfectTUNES but check out the DeDup feature here.  It's exactly what you're looking for.

I kind of remember JRiver being helpful with this kind of stuff.  Here they outline how to create a smart playlist that hunts down duplicates.  That involves setting ~dup=[File Size],[Name].  Maybe you could try ~dup=[Name] and see what comes back.  I think you can trial JRiver but it's been too long since I've used it.
