Popular Post seeteeyou
Apparently many manufacturers might be "trying to fix" something by means of "fixer upper hardware" while in reality it's more like the right driver for the right software + hardware combo that did the trick IMHO https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/taiko-audio-sgm-extreme-the-crème-de-la-crème.27433/page-277#post-697099 https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/taiko-audio-sgm-extreme-the-crème-de-la-crème.27433/page-278#post-697305 https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/taiko-audio-sgm-extreme-the-crème-de-la-crème.27433/page-280#post-698755 https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/taiko-audio-sgm-extreme-the-crème-de-la-crème.27433/page-286#post-700103 Quote However what I can say for sure is that the deletion of the JL Sounds driver and installing the TAS driver made a huge uptick in sound quality. Up until this past week my system as it was (Amanero USB Board) was limited to full use of TAS. Once Emile did his magic and inserted the driver I have been glued to my seat as the sound is just so much better. The best way I can describe what I noticed different ...better dynamics ...a virtually non existent sound floor ...pristine clarity ...3D sound stage More about the technical details https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/taiko-audio-sgm-extreme-the-crème-de-la-crème.27433/page-279#post-698138 https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/taiko-audio-sgm-extreme-the-crème-de-la-crème.27433/page-280#post-698908 https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/taiko-audio-sgm-extreme-the-crème-de-la-crème.27433/page-286#post-700196 Basically the third party WASAPI / ASIO drivers provided by the manufacturers as well as the inbox USB 2.0 Audio Class drivers that came with Android / iOS / Linux / OS X / Windows etc. totally sucked, big time. Those owners of SGM Extreme didn't even need to get one of those cards from JCAT / Matrix Audio / Paul Pang / Pink Faun etc. to begin with, and then no clocks on the Asus WS C621E SAGE motherboard required an upgrade at all. It ain't very profitable to sell a custom driver for those XMOS / Thesycon receiver chips, though. I guess that should have explained what the story is all about now, don't you think? phusis and Hi-Fidelity-4-All 2 Link to comment
