anroj
This issue seems to have started a couple of weeks ago where if I skip songs in Roon, sometimes the next song works, sometimes I have to pause the song multiple times and restart it before it plays. I am running a sonicTransporter5 Gen 3 and ultraRendu and using Roon/HQPlayer. I also noticed last night that I can no longer play DSD64 files without bad skipping. This had not happened before. Nothing has changed in my setup and all the Roon/HQPlayer settings are the same. Has anyone else had this issue and know how to resolve it. Link to comment
One and a half
Have this happen too, without HQPlayer, so can isolate to Roon. The first track can play, but streamer and DAC are no output. The 2nd track can play, can go back to the first and it plays OK, so it's not an audio file issue. Control is from a retired SIMless iphone 8Plus. I can re-create the issue when selecting tracks from different sample rates, like 96 to DSD64 rapidly. Quite often when the iphone is asleep and Roon starts, it can't connect to the core alarm shows up, big panic for nothing, a few moments later, Roon detects the core. Sometimes I need to restart Roon altogether to make it connect to the core. The core itself always remains on. I think there was an update before the end of the year? Once the file plays it rarely skips on my system. AS Profile Equipment List Say NO to MQA Link to comment
anroj
So you think the issue is Roon vs. HQPlayer? If I take HQPlayer out of the loop, everything works fine. I did the latest Roon update and things were working fine up until a couple of weeks ago. Link to comment
AudioDoctor
There is a lot of discussion on this on the Roon forums as well. I have this happen here sporadically and Roons only answer was to blame my network... I can assure you and Roon, my network is fine as is the speed of my connection. No electron left behind. Tom Williams
Hello! The router has the default settings initially installed by ATT. Roon and Tidal have used this router together for about 15 months. Then there was a slight delay from 6 weeks ago, after which the situation got worse. Is there anything I can check? Link to comment

I have been having the same issues since the May/Jun 2020 Roon update. Roon was blaming my DAC (Directsream Sr) and now my network (after reviewing the logs and stoppages on Qobuz content). My network is rock solid everywhere (all other devices) although I have been making changes to see if I can eliminate variables. I'll try Roon to see what they say. One thing I did successfully was to take my sonicTransporter/ultraRendu out of the loop and run HQPlayer/Roon off my NUC and everything worked fine. I can play up to DSD512 with no long pauses, stutters, or dropouts, so in my case I'm not sure if it's Roon or something with the sonicTransporter/ultraRendu. FrankMA 1 Link to comment
