Popular Post 992Sam
I've had it for a day now and been playing with it.... one word. Amazing! The single biggest SQ change towards the positive I have experienced yet. I'm essentially dealign with a very small listening room (12x14) in my condo, which also double as a spare bedroom with a large bed and other clutter .. Some basics of how it works on this video I just threw together... ecwl and One and a half 1 1 McIntosh MC462 Amplifier, McIntosh C1100 Pre-Amp, Accuphase DP-560 SACD player, dCS Rossini DAC, dCS Rossini Clock, McIntosh XR50 speakers, SolidSteel HF-2 rack and Speaker Stands, Gutwire 4-Bar power conditioner, Gutwire SV12 power cable (amp), Gutwire B10 power cables,, McIntosh XLR, Digital and Speaker Cable. One and a half
As an analogy, here's the objective: There are tools to tighten the bolt like: and /or With a little thought, tighten up the bolts the right way with less effort, shorter time, and less knuckle scrapes. and (for the pedants) The wrench (shifter, Franzose), stillsons and vice grips tighten things much like a computer does with DSP. It gets the job done, but there's a struggle, doesn't quite fit. The DG-68 on the other hand, sockets and ring spanners are made for the job and it's completed, done. DSP designed for audio from input to output in one box and easy programming without learning extremely complex equations and updates that can wreck that hard work and minimise noise in the process as found in PC DSPs. Is it better to have 1 million or 2 million taps? Really? Congrats @992Sam enjoy the music :) BTW, I'd use some flat washers and better anti vibration washers....... 992Sam 1 AS Profile Equipment List Say NO to MQA Link to comment
992Sam
you put some work into that post ... impressive! Yes, the right tool for the right job... and this has made listening (especially at lower volume) a lot better... Fletcher Munson in a box? One and a half
Ayup, now if some clever trickery were to distinguish between Sade's bass and 1970's aneamic rock bass transfers, perhaps a flag in the metadata. One day. Or for now several presets in the DG-68. 992Sam 1 AS Profile Equipment List Say NO to MQA Link to comment

Sorry for late reply, thanks for the compliment! An Accuphase purchase is for the long haul, 20 years plus before a replacement is considered. Sure new models are released, but if the line model is replaced with another in the same position say in 5 years, there’s not much of a change sonically. If a purchase is made above the line model, then certainly there’s a difference. There’s always the value for money aspect. If you pay extra then you should expect in return. The finish of this product really has no equal, the finer details like each solder joint, wire loom, fastener selection is top quality, which you can see on the outside carried through. Yes the wood is a like a mirror and is standard on the 1st and 2nd level components. Everything just works, day in day out. Prices for Accuphase in the USA are obscene, severely impacting their sales. Purely an artificial impact. AU prices are fractionally higher than those in Japan, just due to logistics, after all the entry level amps are at 25kg (50lb) and are air freighted. Local support is great , need to add 😀 . There’s no other manufacturing other than in Yokohama, have you seen the YouTubes of the factory, most impressive. I’m not so great on videos but will try a new set of photos over the holidays and post here. 992Sam 1 AS Profile Equipment List Say NO to MQA Link to comment
