KEF LS50 wireless II

Recommended Posts

After 50-60 hours break in period I must just say that the new KEF LS50 wireless II are a fantastic speaker for the money..! The new KEF Connect app are also simple and a joy to use compared to the old solution..Compared to my Kii Threes they are not quit there, but we here talking 5 -6 times the price include the Kii Control and original stands.

My new KEF's presents a wide and deep and quit precise sound with a fast and deep low end and they can also play loud without loosing the control. The details from the new tweeter are also impressing. They are not ROON certificated yet so I have used them direct with the new Tidal Connect for streaming music also in original MQA and direct from my NAS with hi-rez and DSD. Everything works just perfect using the new KEF app. I also now use them for my TV sound,  optical out. They also have hdmi arc in but this I have not tested. Now I just waite to test them as a fully certificated ROON end point.

My Kii Three's are using Aries G2 and ROON for most of the streaming so comparing the KEF LS50 II with the Kii's  is not quite faire but I could easily lived happy with just the new KEF LS50 II ( if I not had heard what the Kii Three's can present in my living room :) )

I assume there is no noticeable latency when watching TV? No audio & video lag / lip sync issue ?

No audio & video lag / lip sync issue at all..  All my TV watching are from Apple TV 4K box and OPPO blue ray  → hdmi to my Sony 65XE9505  → optical out, sound setup in Sony TV. I prefer just to have the sound in stereo also from the TV.  I could also have used HDMI direct to the new KEF LS50 II but the optical solution works and sound very good and the optical cable are more easy to handle. The OPPO blue-ray player also are connected to the Kii Three speakers/Kii Control with coax cable, here I have to adjust the latency / lip sync in the Kii Control setup.
