Wireless Speaker. Possibly portable

Recommended Posts

Folks.

I want to see if any have a recommendation on wireless AUDIOPHILE speakers, to be used outdoor, with or without wires.

Whathifi have a few below - which seems to be quite interesting.

I have several on the list, KEF LS50 Wireless and KEF LSX. My goto speaker for outdoors currently is the new Sonos Move. It is truly wireless with an active DSP that adjusts to its placement. I was surprised at how good the sound is. I like it for its flexibility. It has great battery life plus a nice charging cradle. I put the cradle in my guest bedroom to give guests music access while the speaker is docked there. I take it outdoors for music as needed.

For Posterity Sake.

I auditioned the following:

1.      Sonos Move.

·         Rechargeable Battery and fully Mobile

·         High Rez

·         Array of drivers.....

·         Better than few of these Bluetooth out there. Like Dali Katch (More wider soundstage).

·         Not an audiophile sound

Caveat

·         Did not try functionality like Alexa, Airplay, etc.

2.      Denon Home 350

+

·         Massive Sound. Wide dispersion, V Good high and low register. A good all round sound

·         $$$ relative reasonable (Compared to all in its class)

·         High Rez

·         Tweeter, mid and woofer

_

·         Massive size.

·         Not portable

The Denon Home 250 size is smaller, sound is still better than Sonos Move.

3.      B&W Formation Wedge

+

·         Take all the positives from Denon Home 350, possibly a bit airier soundstage, possibly not as dynamic as the 350

·         Aesthetically pleasing

·         High Rez

 -

·         $$$$  More expensive compared to Denon.

So I will go for the B&W - based on the size, the looks. I have a sneaky feeling that the sound wise the Denon is better. At least when it does settle down; but the B&W has some bragging rights...pity it is not fully portable.
