HIFI
Interested in knowing any ones experience with Manley Labs equipment. I have had an opportunity to listen to Steelhead Preamp with Neo Classic 500 Mono blocks and was moved. So my interest is peeked. Manley Labs 1 My System : TWO SPEAKERS AND A CHAIR Link to comment
AnotherSpin
I had a Stingray integrated amplifier, used it for many years, had fun rolling tubes and was generally very satisfied. I sold it only because of downsizing the audio system. Would consider buying Manley Labs components again would I decide to go for a large system again. Manley Labs 1 Link to comment

I have owned two Stingrays, and heard most of their line from the early 2000s (model years). Their best amps are the Manley Neo-Classic 500 monoblocks which stack up well IMO, with the amazing amps made by VAC, LAMM, Blue Circle etc. Extremely fast, and high-current, - these amps grab ahold of your speakers with a tight leash and make them really sing. for me, - they are one of the no-brainers of high performance audio. The one caveat I would say is that with some models, - they can be a bit revealing, and so you want to match speakers and sources accordingly. For example, - if you have a very revealing DAC/CD player or turntable that really brings out the detail, - (and perhaps noise), - that is reflected through your system. I have heard the stingray with some AvanteGarde horns and that was not a good match, - IMO... Cheers, Manley Labs and motberg 1 1 Link to comment

Popular Post Revelation
Manley had a reference headphone amp that is just amazing. It's clearly the best headphone amp I ever heard. Granted its best to have pro headphones which would allow you to hear the all the details. I heard it with the Beyerdynamic 1990 headphones. mav52 and Manley Labs 1 1 Link to comment
GryphonGuy
I've owned their Manley Steelhead Phono pre-amp for about 11 years now. Still sounds awesome but the left channel is now about 1.5db down on its former settings. Valve changes did not change the left channel being lower output, so I contacted Manley Labs twice to see if there was anything I could "tweak" to re-level the channels and have been ignored both times. So support is not one of their strengths and would not buy another Manley anything. Manley Labs 1 Link to comment
Revelation
I find your comments on lack of support surprising. EveAnna Manley responses to emails directly. I know her personally and she cares about every customer. I also know the guy in Arizona who is the service tech for Manely. My suggestion is to call them and leave a message. She will call you back. GryphonGuy
Thanks to some help we can all see that Manley Labs is helping me with my Steelhead problem. The impression I received of Manley Labs ignoring me turned out to be simply non-receipt of their e-mails, most probably due to junk e-mail filters somewhere since the old support address was a generic squarespace address. I think we need not carry the support on in public as I have been corresponding privately with Manley Labs and the help is flowing well now. Regards GG Manley Labs 1 Link to comment

Fsonicsmith
I am a huge Manley fan. I am the original owner of a Steelhead (coming up on seven years). Regarding the comment above about the "best headphone amp", I hope the poster was referring to the 300B preamp which does also serve as an amazing headphone amp. I confess to have not heard the dedicated headphone amp but by most accounts its performance is not quite up with the best, though it is versatile and space-efficient. Link to comment
vinylvalet
I own a number of Manley components and couldn't imagine better value for my money even with the recent price increases. I've had a minor service request; the response was immediate and their service impeccable. Rather than purchasing the flavor of the month (many of these companies will be history in ten years), buy from a US company with a stellar track record and staying power. Manley is one of the iconic US brands. BTW, their pro gear is in the best studios in the world. Link to comment
