Mike Rubin
Here’s a question for the D90 owners here: how do I access the fuse? I have been thinking of upgrading my D90’s fuse to a Synergistic Orange after being surprised at what it did for my Sonore Rendu SE’s top end. As the D90’s treble is its least attractive aspect, I have been curious whether I could achieve similar improvement if I upgraded its fuse with another Orange. Unfortunately, I can’t figure out how to get access to the fuse should I decide to change it. I spent part of this evening picking at the fuse cover next to the IEC receptacle, both with fingernail and small screwdriver. I also put slight pressure on the small plastic rib that runs into the IEC receptacle. Nothing budged. My dealer, Apos, didn’t know about the fuse and Topping’s service department hasn’t responded to my email asking about removing it, so I hope to glean that information here. Thanks for any guidance you can provide. (Sorry about the highlighting of the text. Dunno from where it came and I can’t see where I can get rid of it.) OldBigEars
Mike, when I had a D90 I remember finding and popping out the fuse. Sorry I can’t remember exactly where and how but you know I’m not very technical, so it couldn’t be too hard. But when I removed the fuse it was difficult to identify exactly what the spec is. There was a thread on the topic, as I think there’s some different views. I didn’t get much advice from Apos and didn’t push the subject as I was within the 30 day period. Did you confirm the right fuse? I put Sig Orange in my Hegel and suspect this could help the D90. The fuse cover on mine might just be recalcitrant. Mike Rubin
Okay, I figured it out. The bluetooth antenna was preventing me from getting leverage as I pried the holder outward with a screwdriver. Reorienting it for the moment allowed me to get the holder out. It turns out there are TWO fuses in there, values unspecified. That just doubled the cost of upgrading to audio-oriented fuses. FIndingit
Isn’t the other fuse inside the plastic tube and meant as a spare? Say NO to ROON Link to comment

Thanks, I just figured that out. It does not appear to be connected to anything, so it's a spare. I am embarrassed that that wasn't obvious to me!
