Popular Post sphinxsix
Since some here have expressed their interest in visual arts I've decided to start this new thread, on which according to the OP will nothing which is visuals/looks connected will be OT I don't think I'm qualified to discuss arts in a really professional way (this is not what this thread is for, let's just have some fun) but IMHP(ersonal)O both these painters: were a little overrated (among other things due to a skillful self-promotion). I mentioned a couple of Picasso related fun facts but IMO the man who himself said.. “There is only one difference between a madman and me. The madman thinks he is sane. I know I am mad.” ..is probably even more 'interesting' figure: mad-facts-salvador-dali-supreme-surrealist OTOH, like I said on another thread, I really admire Banksy and his brilliantly communicative, non-compromising, art of satire and protest. Here are some examples. Love is in the Air (Flower Thrower) (2003) Girl with Balloon aka There Is Always Hope (2004) - the original one. Napalm (2004) Selling his art in Central Park for $60 per piece (some of his paintings are worth hundreds of thousands) - he made only $420 in a day.. Auction at Sotheby's - let's say ..the Girl's with Baloon ..second coming.. (The Director’s half cut) And BTW - more on the audio side of visual arts - I would be really interested - which audio gear's looks alone make in your case guys a temptation to buy it almost irresistible.? In other words - the best (subjectively) looking audio gear of all time.. In my case I must admit I have difficulties with taking my eyes of these whenever I see them. They actually look as if they were designed by Dali.. Let's have some fun DuckToller and panditr 1 1 Link to comment

sphinxsix
"SEOUL (NYT NEWS SERVICE).- The couple saw brushes and paint cans in front of a paint-splattered canvas at a gallery in a Seoul shopping mall. So they added a few brush strokes, assuming it was a participatory mural. Not quite: The painting was a finished work by an American artist whose abstract aesthetic riffs on street art. The piece is worth more than $400,000, according to the organizers of the exhibition that featured the painting. Now it’s hard to tell where the artist’s work ends and the vandalism begins. “Graffitied graffiti,” a local newspaper headline said last week." Before and after. For me he still is ahead of our times - not attractive! Link to comment

sphinxsix
There is no day without Banksy on the news. A terminally ill man who was wrestled to the ground by six police officers after he mooned a speed camera has been honoured with a suspected Banksy mural. "Darrell Meekcom, 55, created a bucket list of things he wanted to do before he dies after receiving the tragic news in October that he has multiple system atrophy. One of the items on his list was to “moon” a speed camera, but police did not see the funny side, coming to arrest him after the incident. In shocking footage, six officers can be seen pinning Meekcom to the ground as he calmly explains his actions.": A terminally-ill man was arrested by six police officers in his back garden after flashing his bum at a speed camera.
