OK, I know this isn't the Supreme Collection 1500, but these three albums are in the collection. I just happened to stumble upon versions mastered by Kevin Gray and wow are they fantastic!

Yes, I ordered four of these from CD Japan in mid-December.

I believe this is the last of the "TBM 2020" albums.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who doesn't enjoy Jazz vocals with an accent.

I'm a native speaker of English and also speak Japanese fluently. In my experience, many Japanese struggle with English pronunciation primarily because the range of sounds used in Japanese is narrower. For example, English has many vowel sounds that you don't find in Japanese.

Going the other way is easier although there are a few sounds that native speakers of English struggle with including the small "tsu" that @MarkusBarkus described, long/short vowels such as "ko" vs "kou", and the Japanese "R" which can be described as a mixture of an "R" and an "L" with perhaps a hint of a "D".

Anyone having issues with shipments?

I ordered about a discs on 12/31 from Disc Japan and they have yet to ship.

There's been no change in status since 12/31.  It says awaiting fulfillment.

Thanks for this thread.  Really excited to get these.

Not all of the discs have been released yet. Perhaps that's the problem.

It's been awhile, but I thought all the ones I picked were "in stock".

I would reach out the vendor and ask for a status update.

I had the same issue. Check my 12/11/post. Finally went to Paypal who didn't receive a response either. Eventually they showed up close to two months later.

Sounds like an issue with the vendor. I've always gotten top notch service from CD Japan (https://www.cdjapan.co.jp).

I haven't even seen a notification that mine have shipped! I'm jealous.

Mine are still sitting in Japan as well.

Fortunately I've got other music that I can listen to...

The playlist for the three blind mice set - is available on the link:
https://www.nts.live/shows/japanese-jazz-week/episodes/three-blind-mice-5th-may-2021

If you scroll down there's a Tracklist section.

Generally NTS radio seem to always detail what they play on each set which is really useful.

Strange that they didn't play any songs from the label's biggest star, Tsuyoshi Yamamoto.

+1

You can't go wrong with any of the albums that Tsuyoshi Yamamoto recorded for TBM.

I'm listening to a great live one right now (The In Crowd).

Hello everyone! I'm new here.

I came up because I'm a huge fan of TBM, of course;)
I bought a few CD and LP, but is very difficult (expensive) to ship and pay taxes for Europe. When I've tried to discover new TBM music, I only found it on Youtube, not on Tidal or Qobuz...

Does anyone knows any Japanese streaming service where I can discover new (old) TBM recordings? Or maybe some online store to buy FLAC flies...?

Thanks for all!

Welcome!

Unfortunately, TBM went bankrupt in 2014 so there are no new releases from this label.

I'm not aware of any streaming sources for these albums nor of any places where they can be downloaded.

They are certainly not available from places like Mora and e-onkyo. For example, the only Tsuyoshi Yamamoto albums available on these services are the albums he made for other labels such as Venus.

Does Sony Music own the rights to the albums?

That appears to be the case as the most recent CDs say "Sony Music Direct" on them. It's weird that they aren't available on Mora which is owned by Sony Music Solutions.
