Qutest - DigiOne Sig 192kHz 16bit playback issues

No general repro steps other than playing any 192kHz 16 bit FLAC files (all Amazon Music downloads)

 

Qutest will on playback:

 

• The input window indicates correct sample rate,
  • Playback is distorted intermittent noise
  • Playback has intermittent, noticeable static-like cracks 
  • Playback will be broken every 2 - 4 seconds, for 0.5 - 2 seconds
• The input window flicker through between all file sample rates continuously with no playback

Hi there,

 

I have the same problem than you with a Digione (not signature) Player with the 192khz FLAC files but also with the 96khz FLAC files.

I have to skip back and replay the song (sometimes two or three times) to resolve this problem. In my case, it looks like that the amperage  of my power supply was too weak for my audio setup but I still have problems (see my post

 

If you find a solution, I'm interested in

Ok, thanks for your answer. I'm not using Roon right now so I will not use Ropieee :).

But I'm looking at it. Is Roon worth it?

Undoubtedly, I am actually finding it a revelation. 

 

Pros

 

Great library management

 

Wonderful presentation of music & genres 

 

Powerful system tools from DAC to upscaling / resampling

 

Cons

 

Learning curve in setting up is steep

 

Additional hardware requirements (a computer to run it on)

 

Only works with a few niche streaming service

 

Overall

 

If you have an extensive digital library, I think it's a no-brainer. (IMHO)

It's appealing   What's holding me back is the price of Roon. Right now, I'm using piCorePlayer as OS on my RPi4 in association with Logitech Media Server. It's responsive and with the plugin Materialskin, the interface is great.

If you have a system that works for you, would be a little overkill buying another system to fix a playback issue...
