Question

Good Day all,

Does anyone have user experience with naim uniti atom with music services  from wifi only versus hard wire ethernet. I am Considering going in that direction and wanted to learn if being 2m away from the router will be robust for good performance. I have pretty good cable modem download of at 200mbps from a new linksys router 2019 mr8300.

Thanks

This should be a piece of cake for any decent home network, even WiFi. Streaming music files, even hi-Rez file should only require less than 2 or 3 Mbps which about 1% of your download speed. WiFi is generally faster than that.

Easy to get ballpark number. If an album is 600Mb and plays for one hour then

(600Mb)/((60 min)*(60sec/min))=0.167Mbps

Netflix generally recommends 5Mbps for HD video so music files should be less.

If “good performance” is SQ, that is something you will need to determine.
