Anyone else care to share their experiences , quirks, etc? Do you have an update after reaching 300 hours? I'm a new Musician Pegasus owner and close to 300 hours. There have been no issues other than Roon 1.8 on macOS was limited to DSD DoP and not offering native DSD. So I moved Roon to Windows 10 PC, downloaded and installed the Pegasus driver. Now I can choose and play native DSD up to DSD256. The Pegasus is in my main stereo system connected via balanced XLR to Rogue Athena tube preamp, Wyred 4 Sound Class D amp, and Martin Logan Spires. I listen primarily to high rez downloaded files of acoustic jazz and jazz vocalists from HDTT, Native DSD, BlueCoast, HDTracks and others. The Pegasus is very impressive. There is nice weight to instruments and fullness to vocals. Warm and rich sounding. There's excellent soundstage depth and noticeable layering. Good soundstage height as well. The bass is deep and tight. So far the Pegasus is meeting my expectations. Mjw21a and sonodynesrp205 2 Link to comment
Popular Post EddieF
Agreed with tuna56 that there is further improvement with the Pegasus at 600 hours. Coming from a generation old NAD M51 for past 10 years the Pegasus is a huge sonic upgrade in just about every subjective area you can think of. Shortly after receiving the Pegasus, I replaced my 2012 Mac Mini running Roon exclusively with a new Lenovo IdeaCentre mini 5i I3 quad core computer. Practically same size and foot print as a Mac Mini. The fan is so quiet you would think the computer is fan-less. It also gives me a solid state boot drive, more horsepower and very key to my music library, the ability to play DSD natively. Lastly, I swapped in a 1m Oyaide Neo d+ class S USB cable which removed a noticeable veil from previous USB cable, along with offering superb clarity and dynamics. It just gets out of the way of the music. Contrary to some reviews I don't find the copper class S cable to be bright at all; at least not with Pegasus R2R DAC. sonodynesrp205, Mjw21a and Rexp 3 Link to comment
