Any of these above 75ohm off the shelf, - & worth the expectation of a substantive uptick with the ER?

I messaged the fellow HamRadioshop on the original aliexpress link days ago.  He got back to me today and said that he can make a 75 ohm version!  So cost would be $125 unit

Appreciated if you could give a link to this!

Mine came with a DAPU OCXO.

Will they respond to requests for the DAPU version when ordering, or you get what you get?

No, but it's a nice idea!

Well, here in Oz that “slow boat from China” turned out to be a slow local customs-distribution nexus

ie the shipping details that came thru the day of delivery showed said clock sitting in Melbourne from end of Nov thru the whole of Dec - slow boat was ~2 weeks, local Oz was ~5 weeks.

We do have a tit-for-tat ‘cold war’ going on ...

Do not expect the wide adjustment BG7TBL clocks to have very low phase noise. At that price point the method they use to synthesize other frequencies from their main clock can not be very advanced.

Any specific measurements available yet?

I just got an AfterDark clock that Alex sent me. It doesn't say what model it is, but the output is definitely a sine wave with 1.3V peak to peak. The output is 50 ohms so I loaded it with 50 ohms and used a 50 ohm cable.

I have not had a chance to run it with an ER or do phase noise measurements.

I did send John my BG7TBL as well as the AfterDark clock.

However, he is right in the middle of two highly important development phases for the next two UpTone products and those have priority over him spending a day to set up, warm up, and run phase-noise plots on these clocks. Maybe in the slack time while waiting for next round of development test boards to come back...

We all know there are some who get progressively inquisitorial about these new prospects on the horizon - I’ve developed a warm n cosy all-is-right-with-the-world expectation. A good thing, in this bizarre world!

/& btw, I just checked the ER manual & realised I’d used an incorrect connection sequence - hadn’t powered down the ER before switching to EXT clock & then powering up clock followed by ER.

So wasted a day or so burn in time, though not really been listening. Clock I suppose will have had stabilising time, after shipping travails.

I will post pictures when I return from out of town. Between the tungsten and the Be Quiet they really transformed the unit. It really sounds like a much more expensive unit.

One really didn’t notice the short comings of the stock clock but once you e implemented these two tweaks it’s even more awesome.

I forgot to mention I also have been using 4 large Baby Booties on the bottom and for footers and two Supersonic Stabilizers from Herbie’s Audio Lab as well. But I had implemented these when I first purchased the clock.

Same here, re the Herbies.

I think anything below 10Hz -130dBc/Hz may not worth the effort.

Cost of Pang starts at?

Thinking I’ll stay safe, as per JS paper, & go with an ADark Giesemann sine + filter;

& stay frugal, well relatively, as befits the original purchase ... maybe the King, which specs above 130.

It doesn’t matter, but they have a 75ohm option?

For the people who are discouraged by square wave, please remember:

A. A good square wave clock yields better results than a sine one.

B. Sourcing a quality 75 ohm cable is neither expensive nor difficult. E.g., Canare LV-77S.

Yeh, I’m unable to judge such ie a good sq wave clock pre-purchase,

so just following the Uptone take-away ... go with ‘safety bet’ sine + filter, & I can still use my Ghent 75ohm Belden 4694R + JSSG360, 30cm cable ...

Easy to test with a multimeter set to continuity/"beep" mode.  You can either touch the two probes of the meter to the two outer barrels of your dual-rail supply--if it does not beep then the rails are fully separate--or you could touch the probes to the metal shells of the 'A' and 'B' side RJ45 jacks (while everything is hooked up and powered up).

@Superdad

Alex, just got round to this, with my multimeter that I’ve never got round to using til now!
So, query - js-2 rails on ER, A-side & rme dac, B-side with ultra rendu powered by ultracap 1.2 in between, B-side -

getting expected beep on 2 outer barrels of js-2, but not on the A-side & B-side metal shells of the ER?
Had expected beeps …?
