Review of the Audiophile TP-Link SG108e @ $29.99

I created a video on why a carefully selected $29.99 8 port switch is more audiophile than switches costing hundreds if not thousands of $$'s. 

 

*Initially uploaded to YT but they are taking everything and making it standard definition and therefore UNWATCHABLE. Seriously, if you are going to take 1080p or 2160p, and reduce it to 360 just put up a notification that you can't upload. The video is USELESS at this down-rez!

 

So I put it on my Amazon Drive:

When I tried with my iPad/Chrome Browser I only get the message that it can't be viewed b/c of the size, but I don't get an option to download.

So, apart from configurability, would you expect to see any improvement in performance compared to the switch built in to an ISP provided switch/router/modem?

A SQ improvement? If the supplied Swrouter is meeting spec then no.

 

There is certainly the possibility of a through put benefit, traffic contention benefit, unknown unicast benefit. Plus for $30 you get diagnostics, you get port counters. And I still have a standing offer of $4k of my money to anyone else's $1K they can't tell the difference between this and Bonn, UpTone, Melco, Chord, etc switch.

Thanks, it's primarily intended as an educational and tutorial video. I'm going to do a PfSense walk through next with the TPlink integrated into it for multi-armed routing aka inter-vlan routing.
