peterlim8
Is there such a product? If yes, please recommend. TIA To install onto a desktop and output 384 from each BNC out. Link to comment
Miska
You can find various interfaces with multiple AES/EBU (XLR) outputs, but coaxial in such is not so usual and BNC even less so. Your request sounds like mixing professional AES interface (over 110 ohm differential) and consumer S/PDIF (over 75 ohm coaxial). yamamoto2002
Lynx AES16e + CBL-AES1604 , RME HDSPe AES, or Marian Seraph D4 and use AES3 to AES3id impedance conversion transformers : Canare BCJ-XJ-TRC or Neutrik NADITBNC-F note: AES3id is not conpatible to S/PDIF coax Sunday programmer since 1985 Developer of PlayPcmWin Link to comment
yamamoto2002
It seems canare BCJ-XJ-A10TRC is better than BCJ-XJ-TRC for this application. Sunday programmer since 1985 Developer of PlayPcmWin Link to comment
Speedskater
While AES3 over coax is not the same as S/PDIF, it's covered in: AES03-4-2009 (reaffirmed 2019) Annex D (normative) Coaxial transmission Link to comment
Miska
Usually transmitters and receivers are compatible with both AES and S/PDIF, just some status bits are different. But AES over coaxial is unusual, and dual-wire AES over coaxial is especially unusual, so not many interfaces have it built-in, especially with BNC connectors. If they have, they usually have RCA connectors and you can then select either S/PDIF or AES data. Signalyst - Developer of HQPlayer Pulse & Fidelity - Software Defined Amplifiers Link to comment
Speedskater
Lots of info onAES3 from the old Rane library: RaneNoteInterfacing AES3 & S/PDIF • Initials, Acronyms & Standards • AES3 (AES/EBU) & S/PDIF Differences • AES-3id Variation • Conversion Cautions • Converting AES3, AES-3id & S/PDIF http://www.rane.com/pdf/ranenotes/Interfacing_AES3_&_SPDIF.pdf https://www.ranecommercial.com/kb_article.php?article=2125 Link to comment
yamamoto2002
OT description is vague but I thought about there may be a dual AES3id BNC input DAC that is similar to dual AES/EBU (XLR) DoP DSD128 input which dCS Vivaldi or Aqua Acoustic Linq has, exists somewhere in the world ? If DAC input is dual AES XLR, no conversion is necessary because typical multi AES/EBU output PCIe cards output AES3 XLR. Sunday programmer since 1985 Developer of PlayPcmWin Link to comment
Miska
I think some Chord DACs have dual-BNC S/PDIF input.... But that's pretty much only thing I can think of. dCS, AFAIK, uses standard dual AES XLR. yamamoto2002 1 Signalyst - Developer of HQPlayer Pulse & Fidelity - Software Defined Amplifiers Link to comment
