Big fan of their work.  Was just listening to them a week ago.

Rest in peace Florian.

By far my favorite band of all time. Their music was so far ahead of it's time. Saw them in Berkeley in '75(?), Santa Monica Civic in '80 (there's a boot of this concert posted on youtube recorded by me and my buddy on a Sony Stereo cassette recorder. We had two mics, attached to our eyeglass frames and we stood a few feet apart to get the maximum separation), had tickets to the cancelled '86 concert at the Universal Ampitheatre, and saw them for the last time at the Hollywood Palladium in '98.

I got to see them (the 3D show) in Taranto Italy a couple of years ago, an outdoor show by the seaside. While Florian wasn't with them, his music and spirit certainly were. It was my first time seeing Kraftwerk - I felt like a kid in a candy store.

My wife is from Dusseldorf, so whenever we visit it's alway fun to think of the great musicians (and artists) that have walked those streets. A true incubator of talent, for sure, somewhat akin to my hometown of Seattle, albeit a different sound and time.
