I'd say the company is out of business if I had to guess. Looks like the domain wasn't renewed. This is usually a sign because domain renewal is like $10. Of course it can also be overlooked / forgotten, but given the circumstances it doesn't look good.

I don’t think many companies are interested in taking on an out of business company’s problems. Just saying.

Sure, but I don’t see Apple lining up to take on the broken products of its ex employees’ companies. 
 

Just doesn’t make sense unless ESS is hurting for business and thinks there’s a buck to be made.

It’s hard to believe some companies do stuff like this. The internet has a very long memory. Those involved are one Google search away from being exposed and their future endeavors turned upside down.

The domain is owned by a shady company named Soderman Marketing.

Soderman Marketing is just some SEO firm: https://www.sodermanmarketing.com

And building up that site for later SEO purposes. Tons of words that don’t say much all together but on their own are keywords. The site is building Google juice to be used later.

Does anyone know what the problem is with these units? Finding someone to fix them shouldn’t be too hard if the problem is somewhat normal. If it’s a custom firmware issue, that’s another story.
