What's the best freeware software to analyze songs?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

There's a few songs in my collection that sound wonderful. I'd like to be able to play the song on my computer and analyze the song because I'm curious to where the bass frequencies are. Of course these are from Youtube but the CDs sound excellent on my system and since they sound much better than "other" recordings I'm curious as to why. If you could recommend any freeware software I can download into Windows 10, play, and watch a spectrum analyzer in order to point me at the frequencies I'm hearing that'd be great!

Jesse Cook, Album: One World, Track: TOMMY AND ME

That'll give the subs a work out. The album is very well recorded.

Jesse Cook, Album: Beyond Borders, Track: Skip the moon
The track just sounds wonderful in the midbass to midrange though there is a sense of "eerieness" about the song. I enjoy the "springyness" of the nylon guitar strings and the resonance from the guitar body. I actually love this song for SPL. When the guitar begins "climbing" upwards in scale I've had listeners leave the room as the hairs stand up on the back of their necks.

Jesse Cook, Album: Beyond Borders, Track: Call to Rythm.

Love the bass drops. Let's Tango. The room is spacious.
