Hi Guys, Thanks to @Mike Rubin for directing me to East Wind Records and it's Japanese jazz treasure trove. Now the questions are,

 

1. how to get some of these albums and

 

2. which ones are peoples' favorites?

Since I know you already know a lot of TBM's albums, Chris, I'll recommend something different.

 

Have you heard Happy Coat by Shota Osabe?

I think that, in general, the earlier stuff is best - the first Kikuchi, Masuda, Mine, Togashi, Honda, and Hino albums show the strength and creativity of uncynical Japanese musicians at the time - but my favorite is Terumasa Hino's "Hogiuta" as I mentioned earlier.
