The Computer Audiophile
Given the current global pandemic, I’d love to know if people’s listening habits have change. Many people are staying at home to avoid exposure. Has this equates to more listening for you guys? My daughter’s school was just closed until April 6, 2020. This has actually put a damper on my daytime listening. How about you all? Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
I’ve been listening to more Pearl Jam. I’m bummed the current tour is canceled. Still have tickets to Madison Square Garden show, whenever it takes place. Jud 1 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

I was eagerly anticipating a Brahms concert next week with Emmanuel Ax and the Rotterdam Philharmonic. It's just been cancelled due to travel restrictions. The Ultra Music Festival (electronic music) and Calle Ocho (Latin music) have also been cancelled here. Music is a reliable source of joy in the midst of all this. +100 Listening is the great escape and a tremendous source of enjoyment. opus101 1 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

I am also doing more reading and I find that mysteries with classical music playing in the background provide relaxation, enjoyment, and mental stimulation. I actually started watching this last night. Axial and Allan F 2 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

If so, what were your feelings when the team moved to Dallas and won the Stanley Cup there? I was spoiled growing up as a Habs fan. Les Canadiens won five Cups in a row during the Jean Beliveau years and four in a row during Guy Lafleur's tenure. Of course, recently deceased Henri Richard holds the never to be equaled record, having won 11 Cups during his career. Sadly, they haven't won it since 1993, and prospects don't look good for the foreseeable future. 🙂 Don’t get me started. I watched Lemieux sink the Stars at Met Center to win the Cup, then the Stars moved to Texas. I was in high school. It was terrible. Taking the train from Cornwall to Montreal for a Canadiens game. May have seen Tony Esposito in goal against St Lawrence once but best was watching Ken Dryden keep goal for Cornell all 6'7" of him(with his skates) with his chin on his stick most of the games because the 'D' was so good St Lawrence never got the puck across the blueline in the 4-5 x i saw him play in person and then that great run to the Cup with him in the nets for Las Habitants. Thanks for the memories!! Great to hear. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

That tinkering has not always had the desired outcomes. For example, my rock solid Orbi network was given a firmware update that ended in disaster, swearing, and anger. It has also led me to start eyeing Ubiquiti UniFi systems, educating myself on networking protocols, and identifying the best practices to blanket my house in WiFi. I also now know what an "Ethernet Backhaul" is and plan to implement it. In addition to that, two pieces of audio gear I ordered a while back both arrived recently, and those went into service immediately. Since then I have had to force myself to do things like sleep, eat, and go to the restroom because they both sound so damned good. Ubiquiti UniFi stuff is fabulous. I’ve installed many of these networks over the years and use one at home. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
