Matt Curry
Hello, I have an isolator board with a katana dac connected to a Pi 4 and cannot for the life of me get it to see the katana dac under volumio. When I try to load the driver I get the following error: allo-katana-codec 1-0030: Failed to read Chip or wrong Chip id: 0 I have tried a number of different jumper configurations and have had no luck so far. I am running it with an isolator board. I checked the following directory and can see the katana drivers in there: /lib/modules/4.19.86-v7+/kernel/sound/soc/bcm/ I have the J30 jumper on and I have J26 connected to 2&3. If you guys have any ideas please let me know. Link to comment
Matt Curry
I should also mention that the lights on the MC are solid green and are green down to the isolator. Link to comment
Matt Curry
Additionally, if I select generic I2S DAC from the configuration screen, then restart volumio, I get this when I run aplay -l: **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: ALSA [bcm2835 ALSA], device 0: bcm2835 ALSA [bcm2835 ALSA] Subdevices: 7/7 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Subdevice #1: subdevice #1 Subdevice #2: subdevice #2 Subdevice #3: subdevice #3 Subdevice #4: subdevice #4 Subdevice #5: subdevice #5 Subdevice #6: subdevice #6 card 0: ALSA [bcm2835 ALSA], device 1: bcm2835 IEC958/HDMI [bcm2835 IEC958/HDMI] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: ALSA [bcm2835 ALSA], device 2: bcm2835 IEC958/HDMI1 [bcm2835 IEC958/HDMI1] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: sndrpihifiberry [snd_rpi_hifiberry_dac], device 0: HifiBerry DAC HiFi pcm5102a-hifi-0 [HifiBerry DAC HiFi pcm5102a-hifi-0] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 I bought the DAC from Chicago Electronic Distributors Link to comment
Matt Curry
I ended up hooking the DAC up to a pi3b+ and it worked fine. I guess it is just incompatible with the 4. Link to comment
