I took this thread as going in a somewhat different direction.  I'll admit that the concepts below at first struck me as at least counter-intuitive, and at worst, crackpot.

 

But the crux is that cooperation trumps competition every time.

Thanks, but wouldn't you agree that competition is to a large extent, "baked in" to Western culture?

I'd prefer everyone to be nicer here. That is how the whole civility thing came about in the first place. If we are going to cooperate, one of the first steps is being accepting of differing opinions.
