This Metal Film from Mouser is rated for 50ppm drift, so when push comes to shove, the resistor may not break down and the image should be pretty good. Also found an article that explains when HPs can be connected directly to power amps, others require resistors as above. Interesting topic. In my own designs, if a particular resistor is critical to SQ, then I use a high precision, expensive item, the lowest ppm drift item at a sensible price. The reason is not the drift number, but rather that the manufacture was far more 'careful'; that being needed to get the precision, with the 'side' benefit that all other behaviours should also be better.
