NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS

And I thought this was gonna be a thread about bit rates on Qobuz 😉

Now by cable news broadcasts are you talking about Trump and bloody Brexit or news about what cable best squeezes that last ounce of performance out of the EtherRegen!?

Either way good resolution. I greatly enjoyed the last several months where I just enjoyed the music and stopped listening to the SQ. The ER brought me back into the mania but I intend submersing myself in the music again for 2020.

+1 on the best wishes to all and right back atcha!

Cheers,

Alan

I love Wanda, but I think I will move to Costa Mesa.

Having lived just up Bristol St. from Costa Mesa, I can suggest you might regret that. :)

I am considering giving up on sugar in the morning tea and going for sweetener instead.

But I fear that this may ruin my tea and result in a grumpy start of the day.

Best Wishes to fall for a wonderful 2020!

Excellent resolution!!

I will try to get in to fewer pointless arguments, decrease my ecological footprint and as usual make an effort to exercise more.

Best Wishes!

Spent a few thousand on trying to reduce my carbon footprint (fuel bills😁) over the last couple of years... UFH, insulation, MVHR system etc.

So this year its finally getting married...

But more importantly getting a Fender fretless jazz bass and finally nailing Bohemian Rhapsody bass part from beginning to end (this is just laziness on my part).

Happy new year.

As a tea addict I strongly recommend giving up all sweetening substances and enjoying tea itself (with lime/lemon as an option) :)

As for New Year resolutions I vow that the 8TB WD drive I bought a couple of months ago to integrate my music files from two drives (I haven't ripped my CDs and I probably won't) is the last drive I've ever bought. Still have 1.2TB free on it and this is all I need (just convincing myself, kind of audio/musicophile affirmation..x-D) for new music downloads till the end of time! 9_9

I resolve to be a better audiophile.  i.e. to spend enormous amounts of time and money on things that matter little or not at all.

I sincerely hope you are joking as that would make you an audiofool not an audiophile.

Here are my resolutions / plans for the future:

  • Stay with free over-the-air antenna TV no matter what is offered by any of the paid services.
  • Stay with a corded landline telephone until landline service no longer exists. At which time I would go with no telephone.
  • When my computer dies go back to using the computers once a week at the Public Library for email and checking in with Audiophile Style. My apartment complex changed the terms of their lease several years ago and the included free wi-fi internet no longer allows streaming audio or video and I am unwilling to pay for internet service. My Mac Mini computer is seven years old so this could be the year it dies.

All of my computer downloads are on both thumb drives and a Seagate backup drive, both of which are playable on my Yamaha Blu-ray / SACD universal player and I actually prefer the sound through my Yamaha player than through my Teac USB DSD DAC. The Yamaha does up to 2.8MHz (64fs) DSD. I will replace the universal player when it dies, perhaps then it will also play my few 5.6MHz (128fs) DSD music files. My Teac DAC is now used exclusively for watching television.

I have dementia. I save all my posts in a text file I call Forums.  I do a search in that file to find out what I said or did in the past.

I still love music.

It's probably hard to get rid of that constant Cosmic Radio Background that will be present in those speakers 😉
