Perhaps you never suffered his endless shilling of Shunyata, Black Cat, and Audioquest over at Hoffman. Someone willing to debase themselves in a public forum like that is trying to tell us something about their character. YMMV, of course. maxijazz, lucretius, esldude and 2 others 3 2 Link to comment

Who do you suppose is really influencing who in this scenario? 🙂 crenca, lucretius and Ran 3 Link to comment
Popular Post Samuel T Cogley
Considering that this forum has become perhaps the best example of "democratization of information" in the context of internet audio forums, this development is of very little to no consequence to the forum members. The cozy relationship between the establishment audio media and the manufacturers will continue unabated. crenca and lucretius 2 Link to comment
Samuel T Cogley
I'm thinking that in his new position, it wouldn't be appropriate for him to engage directly in public forums. He has people for that now. Link to comment

His last title was Director in a consulting company. A big one. Ok, fair enough. But here's my point, without looking it up, how many people know the name of the last person to hold this position? We know the heads of the audio publications under the umbrella, because those are the mouthpieces. But to be fair, Scoggins' arrival could possibly herald a new era for these publications where the head of the company is more "active" in social media than his predecessors. I have no idea. Do you have any feel for this? Link to comment

His EVP title (not to be confused with the President title) has to do with "business development". So maybe he has to "sing for his supper". 🙂 Link to comment

I have made lifelong friends at both magazines and continue to be proud of the quality of these publications. I have especially enjoyed working with some of the most sophisticated audio manufacturers in the industry. I believe as the industry becomes more digital, our investment in new channels and ideas will prove valuable.” Translation: the name dropping will continue, ad nauseam 🙂 MikeyFresh 1 Link to comment
Popular Post Samuel T Cogley
People speculating about topics they know nothing about is the backbone of internet forums. Why should it be any different here? 🙂 Jud, The Computer Audiophile and garrardguy60 2 1 Link to comment

Unless, in your mind, anything involving TAS, Lee Scoggins, or me automatically connects to MQA. Just a bit reductionist, hombre. Your and Scoggins' relentless MQA sycophancy is the point. Maybe you and Scoggins do other things, I wouldn't know. But your (and Scoggins') MQA cheer-leading is well documented in this forum. You know, the forum that you compare to your employer in a lame attempt to exonerate your MQA advocacy? botrytis 1 Link to comment
Samuel T Cogley
Can't decide who's more of an audio weasel now: Gavin Fish or Lee Scoggins. Gavin still owes people money where Lee just "borrowed" some gear, so there's that I guess. botrytis 1 Link to comment
