Just for the record - this ground wire now removed. (At first the ground was light gauge to heavier gauge via a stub. I discovered this grounding route is not an improvement after all by using heavier gauge wire direct.)

 

Finally - consistent with "downstream matters more" - I can now hear unambiguously the effect of DAC (Dangerous Convert-2) WC instead of Dante Internal Clock D16 AES. An improvement, and compensates for any shortcomings I have ever heard in my system.

 

I'm not a fanboy of any description - except ardent about my wife, naturally. But I do applaud this product without hesitation.

I did not listen directly before the update (only after) because of lack of time but If there’s any new stabilization taking place now because it was powered off and on again and it gets even better then great if not I’m still as happy as I was before the upgrade. I think this device should be sold at at least 3x its current price. 😀

Quick update: I was in the fence for updating the firmware on my EtherRegen November batch. Simply because I had no connectivity issues, and some posts here on SQ scared me initially.

 

I finally did the update today. It was fairly easy, and instructions were spot on.

 

Happy and relieved to report that the SQ after update did not suffer. Not at all. Everything sounds just as good, and possibly better. No major changes that I am able to notice.

You are already running the current firmware unless you received your unit in November (1st batch).
