Albums by Year for One Artist

Recommended Posts

I want to start playing with the earlies album I have that Miles released, then the next, etc. etc. until I get to his latest release.  These are all in my Music Library (ripped from CDs).

What is the best way to do this?

Column browser is song oriented, and Albums, Miles in search field, Sort by year brings up The Who and lots of other people (I guess everybody who covered a tune by him).

Ideas?

"The overwhelming majority [of audiophiles] have very little knowledge, if any, about the most basic principles and operating characteristics of audio equipment. They often base their purchasing decisions on hearsay, and the preaching of media sages. Unfortunately, because of commercial considerations, much information is rooted in increasing revenue, not in assisting the audiophile. It seems as if the only requirements for becoming an "authority" in the world of audio is a keyboard."

Here's how I do it.

Column browser--Artist column--Miles Davis

Song listings--"Album" sub-column then click up/down arrow by album and select "Album by Artist/Year"

Done.

Another option is to select Miles Davis in Artists. In the View menu, choose Sort By > Year. Naturally, each album has to have the year tag set, otherwise some will be out of order.

Or, select all the albums, add them to a new playlist, choose View > As Songs, click the Album header until it displays Album by Artist/Year.

yup - I change the date (when I catch it) and add the 'new' date as a note
