Popular Post firedog
Totally cool, I just got my yearly Sublime+ subscription extended for a year for $176. With the discounted album download purchases I'd make even without the subscription, the hi-res streaming subscription is basically "free". No temptation to switch to the corporate bully now. I think this is a smart move by Qobuz- they are going to lock present customers in and get them to extend, and also probably attract new customers. They will grow in the face of competition from Amazon. rickca
I can't figure out how to sign up for Studio Premier. I currently have an annual subscription to HiFi for $200 that expires in March 2020. How do I switch to Studio Premier for $150 per annum (less a discount equal to the remaining value of my current Hifi subscription)? Is this a response to Amazon or is there another service like Qobuz about to launch? Never mind, @The Computer Audiophile, I figured it out. If you click on Get Studio Premier, you will see a page that lets you sign up (monthly or annual) and it shows me the pro rata discount from my current subscription. What is confusing is that this page does not say Studio Premier, it says Studio. Qobuz really needs to update this. Also, when you click on the Pay button, you don't get a screen confirming your payment. I had to go check my credit card charges to verify that my payment was successfully processed. Another issue. When you get a confirmation email, it says You are now a Qobuz Studio subscriber! Again, it should say Studio Premier if Qobuz wants to be consistent about the names of its subscription options. Great announcement, great deal. The sign up process for existing customers needs improvement. Please note @dmackta. Thanks. cscamp
They had to keep up with Amazon. Too bad Qobuz is still lacking some titles. Tidal will probably lower their pricing next week. Link to comment
luisma
Great news and good move from Qobuz, however I have a problem, I was a Sublime+ subscriber, expiring on Jan 29 2020 I decided to subscribe to Studio Premier as I really don't do purchases but only streaming. The system allowed me to do so but my card was charged $149. Now based on this page https://try.qobuz.com/faq-studio-premier/ it seems they should "discount" the remaining value of your subscription in my case almost 3 months and apply this to the new subscription therefore the charge should not have been the full subscription value of $149 Has anyone experienced the same issue? luisma
never mind there is a statement If you subscribe to Sublime+ for another 12-months at $249.99 before Nov.30, 2019, we will issue you a refund based on the value of your plan on the day you switched to the new price. Refunds will be issued starting Dec. 9, 2019. Which basically confirms there will be a refund (one month from now) Link to comment
Josh Mound
Glad you wrote this, @The Computer Audiophile! I was about to post about this in the dedicated Qobuz thread. Happily, given his promotion of Amazon's (inferior, IMO) lossless streaming, Neil said this about Qobuz's decision to drop MP3s: “Qobuz sounds great! Qobuz was one of the earliest Hi-Res streamers. Their new offer is another big step towards making Hi-Res streaming available at the same cost as MP3 streaming today.” Polyglot 1 🔊 The Best Version Of... 🎧 Link to comment
Popular Post beetlemania
I've been super happy with Qobuz. No MQA and they've added some of the titles I previously had on Tidal. Popular Post Jud
It's a no-brainer: best service, lowest price. keeper
The thIng that puts me off the service is playlists and stations. hsmeets
As I see it this is a limited offer and targeted at the US market only. I’m living in Europe and when I look at my qobuz account there is no option to switch. Link to comment
Popular Post Norton
Looks like £24.99 a month in UK. If I was ever going to consider Qobuz, this kind of adverse differential pricing is a deal breaker, why should I pay double the US price? Great for US consumers, but might backfire for their European customer base. Graham Luke, GrahamH, Confused and 1 other 2 2 Link to comment
