chungjh
I have my ER powered by PHynes SR4T and it improved my SQ. Does everyone who tried it notice a significant SQ improvement with a GOOD LPS for the modem/router? Or would it be a marginal improvement? Link to comment
MartinT
Yes, my router is powered by a Paul Hynes PR3iEHD 12V LPSU and it definitely improves the sound, as does the MeiCord Opal from it to the ER. Mike Rubin
Contrarian here. I used an HDPlex LPS with a Netgear DOCSIS 3.1 modem and ASUS AC87R router and I couldn’t hear any difference whatsoever. Path was from router to Netgear unmanaged SOHO switch to ER by copper, and then ER to streamer by optical cable. Maybe a better LPS would have made a difference, but the HDPlex wasn’t a bad one. Hi Martin, Same here .. my 20m supra cat 8 is in my storeroom as my antipodes cx+ex with it sounded worse than my wifi mesh. Some advised because wifi is isolated but some says wifi must sound worse but I rely on my ears. Cheers. I pay a flat contract of 20GBP for 100GB per month, which satisfies all my music streaming needs. For reasons that I don't fully understand, it sounds better than FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) or FTTP (Fibre to the Premises). This sounds odd. Same router, and option to chose between WLAN and 4G. How do you manage to control what shall be 4G and what shall be fiber/cable in your consumers ? If we’re talking about a dedicated subnet with music only, you may have found something interesting that causes this better SQ. (But you don’t need two ISP to obtain that). Edit Maybe discuss further in that other tread if this start to expand. Link to comment

Popular Post Superdad
If UpTone has seemed quiet on the forum lately it is because we are busier than ever! Here are a couple of pics from the shop--last week and this week. 200 EtherREGENs (60 to dealers and the rest to all those promised February 11th shipment), plus a big batch of JS-2s we are working on at the same time. Our shop is getting crowded and expansion is planned for this year as we have several other new products to roll out in the coming months. Thanks everyone!
