Popular Post Avalfa
I had to register to reply here, have been reading around for a while now. Today my etherregen from Audiostore in the UK arrived in the Netherlands. And it's in my system right now for about half an hour. My first impression? ( I have given it time to warm up a bit for 15 minutes, before connecting Ethernet cables) First seconds of music, my jaw dropped at the floor, thinking WTF!!? Just brilliant. Way, way more details, wider and deeper sound stage, more definition, more ease, more calmness etc. A serious good investment this one. For who's interested, it replaced a basic d-link switch between home network (desktop PC somewhere in the house used as NAS) and streamer/pre-amp, with basic cat 5e and cat6 cables of all kinds of brands that I just had laying around. ( I just use my streamer for local file Playback) Puma Cat, Superdad, Bricki and 2 others 2 1 2 Link to comment

Popular Post Avalfa
Just reading thrue the last pages here. I can't really think of any reason why someone can't hear a severe improvement with the ER (or at least change) except if something in the chain is masking the effect/benefits of the ER. When I installed mine last week, I kept my basic D-link switch in the audio rack at first, to make it easy to switch back, because I assumed that was necessary to be hearing differences. The opposite was there. I listened to the DLink for 15-30 mins (while ER could warm up a bit). At the moment I changed it, with ER it was so very obvious the change was enormous, far beyond anything I expected. The very first seconds music played I could hear it, not a doubt. Which ended up, that late that night I took away the DLink, it's never going back there. My system is not very complicated with all kinds of "boxes connected to one and another" perhaps that helps. I just do local file Playback streaming. (Desktop pc somewhere in the house with minimserver as a) Nas--> a few patch points/wallsockets -->ER --> Audionet DNP--> Audionet amp1V2--> isophon vertigo. Proper power conditioner, power cables and interconnects. (I have got plans to get a Melco as a NAS and upgrade the networking cables). Sonic77 and Superdad 2 Link to comment
