New High end Pro-Ject dac/pre looks nice

Their description sure mentions MQA a lot.  I guess someone convinced Pro-Ject that people care about it.

The popularity of the low priced s2 was much to do with MQA abilities at a low price. Im sure the same here competing with the likes of Mytek, Teac, etc.

I'm pretty sure it was more about the performance and EISA award and nothing to do with MQA...

 

You can get similarly low priced MQA from many other places too, like iFi for example.

You are right about the S2's performance. However, at the time of it's release, low cost dacs (besides the Dragonfly dongle) were not available. The talk on all the audio forums was about the S2 being an affordable MQA Dac. Many upon many non MQA options in the price range

I think iFi was too... And almost nobody is interested on MQA anyway. Since you can decode MQA in software, you don't need such functionality in a DAC anyway.
