arcman
Dual mono, balanced outputs plus HDMI MSRP is a bit pricey, however, I’m sure you’ll be able to get cheaper https://www.project-audio.com/en/product/pre-box-rs2-digital/ Link to comment
rickca
Their description sure mentions MQA a lot. I guess someone convinced Pro-Ject that people care about it. Im sure the same here competing with the likes of Mytek, Teac, etc. Link to comment
arcman
I wonder if John Westlake is involved with this unit. Link to comment

You can get similarly low priced MQA from many other places too, like iFi for example. Signalyst - Developer of HQPlayer Pulse & Fidelity - Software Defined Amplifiers Link to comment

However, at the time of it's release, low cost dacs (besides the Dragonfly dongle) were not available. The talk on all the audio forums was about the S2 being an affordable MQA Dac. Many upon many non MQA options in the price range Link to comment

Many upon many non MQA options in the price range I think iFi was too... And almost nobody is interested on MQA anyway. Since you can decode MQA in software, you don't need such functionality in a DAC anyway. Signalyst - Developer of HQPlayer Pulse & Fidelity - Software Defined Amplifiers Link to comment
