What was the type of music most of the vendors were playing? Mostly older or anything newer?

Bryston was playing everything. A few requests, followed by some great tracks in their library.

....We were listening to the little Pro-Ject DAC and its slightly bigger brother in the headphone area, and they both sounded quite good. A fellow dropped by to say how much he loved the little DAC because of MQA, and repeated most of the MQA marketing points....

The way you describe it sounds like astroturfers.

Hey MQA, if it is not all $voodoo$, show us the math!

Far, far too many rooms were playing vinyl, which obviously all the cool kids are listening to these days.

You mean the cool kids aren't listening to MQA?  Who would  have thunk it!

Things I Learned At RMAF:

Always make sure your seat is properly oriented toward the speakers. When people get up to leave, they tend to turn the chairs askew. There were rooms where I found myself underwhelmed and thinking the soundstage is very confusing, only to realize I’m sitting off angle.

Anyone else have RAMF “protips”?

I don't use Twitter much, but maybe the Twitterati like @The Computer Audiophile know this - do exhibitors tend to announce special events during the show on Twitter? Or other social media?

It’s all over the board. Just like the range of HiFi companies is all over the board, so are there communication protocols.

At Axpona, this last year, 5 rooms in a row were playing DSOTM - I walked in and out of the rooms very quickly.

Sounds like DSOTM is the new Hotel California, LOL.

Well, Jessica Fernandez was over played at Axpona this year as well as Lyn Stanley.

It was fun going into the Kii room on Sunday at Axpona and hearing some Mongolian Heavy Metal.
