Blu@Audio
Just demoing how to play hirez tracks using a MacMini with PureMusic & M2Tech using older equipment with Burr Brown 1702 DACs. Those Chips can handle only resolutions up to 20bit / 96Khz. The Processor Display consisting the 1702s reports an error when playing hirez :-( I was able to fix the rate in PureMusic to 96kHz, but neither PureMusic nor M2Tech let me change the resolution to 20bit. Did I have overseen anything ? Or is my idea nonsense ? Thanks Mac Mini ---> HiFace ---> StageDac ---> HiFiAkademie Poweramp & DSP ---> DIY Speakers Link to comment
blueixus
I have an 'old' Audio Note Dac which is limited to 96kHz and 18 Bit fed by an M2Tech Hiface. With Amarra there is an option in preferences to reduce the bit length to 16 or 20 which may help you out. Like you I could not find this option with Pure Music, fortunately my Dac seems very happy with 24bit High Res. Trying to make sense of all the bits...MacMini/Amarra -> WavIO USB to I2S -> DDDAC 1794 NOS DAC -> Active XO ->Bass Amp Avondale NCC200s, Mid/Treble Amp Sugden Masterclass -> My Own Speakers Link to comment
