A quick peruse says it's all about the feedback - what I'll be curious to see is if that control loop is good enough to handle anything thrown at it - such as a somewhat duff PS, plenty of interference junk floating around, and speakers with crazy electrical characteristics.

Spurred my interest in looking for solutions to doing this, and found an online service that does the job, https://otter.ai/. They have a free version, which I tried a 10 minute chunk of the podcast on - and it worked nicely! Professional looking result, and the error rate was highly acceptable, considering the casualness of how the two were conversing.
